Welcome.
Welcome to the Atheist Network. The Atheist Network has been around for more than 7 years. Originally created by Jake (www.afterfaith.com) and The Infidel guy (www.infidelguy.com), it has a large, tight knit and thriving atheist community, that never plays soft and never apologizes for it. The Atheist Network was created with the idea that only through HONEST exchange of ideas and information can we all break free of theistic influences. It's not a bashing board nor is it a brainiac board but rather a community of atheists as diverse as nature itself. We welcome all atheists to come and join the fun.

We are currently revamping our audio feed and we are currently looking for new content to play. We are putting the call out to all atheists who are in bands, are poets, have songs of their own, have been in live recorded debates, like to create audio plays, or would like to create a show of their own.

If you have some content that you would like to share with the world, please contact us at radio _at_ atheistnetwork _dot_ com. If you would like to join an atheist community where honesty is key, then this is the place for you.

It's Time to Update the Pledge

Under God mourns the loss of the minister who persuaded President Eisenhower and Congress in 1954 to insert into the Pledge of Allegiance the phrase "under God" -- an idea whose time was then.

Now, with the passing of the Rev. George M. Docherty, who died Thanksgiving Day at the age of 97, let us review why the phrase was added in the first place and why we should consider updating the pledge.

Docherty's contribution to American civil ...

President George W. Bush, nearing the end of his final term in office, says he most wants to be remembered as someone who came to Washington and didn’t lose his values.

Someone who didn’t sell his soul to the political process.

Somebody who liberated 50 million people and he...

Anti-terror law requires God be acknowledged
By John Cheves - jcheves@herald-leader.com
Under state law, God is Kentucky's first line of defense against terrorism.

The 2006 law organizing the state Office of Homeland Security lists its initial duty as "stressing the dependence on Almighty God as being vital to the security of the Commonwealth."

Specifically, Homeland Security is ordered to publicize God's benevolent protection in its reports, and it must...

Commandos were tonight battling the last gunmen holed up in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Bombay as one of the worst terrorist attacks in India’s history reached its bloody endgame.

The diplomatic fallout was just beginning, however, as India laid the blame for the attacks on Pakistan, its neighbour and rival, and an Indian official said that two of the militants were British Pakistanis.

British officials said they were investigating the possibility of such a link but had found ...

A jealous lover who blinded a woman with acid is also to be blinded with acid under the country's Islamic law.

A 27-year-old named only as Majid confessed to attacking Amenah Bahrami in 2004 to dissuade anyone from marrying the woman he loved.

Wednesday's ruling was issued based on the Islamic law system of 'qisas,' or eye for an eye retribution.

The reports say Ameneh asked the court to sentence Majid, who was only identified by his first name, to be blinded by acid to preven...

Discovery slow in coming

With hard bony shells to shelter and protect them, turtles are unique and have long posed a mystery to scientists who wonder how such an elegant body structure came to be.
