University of Alaska Television

The University of Alaska Television Network broadcasts original programming throughout the state in order to inspire learning, advance and disseminate knowledge, and emphasize the North and its diverse peoples. The University of Alaska Television Network will be used to inform Alaskans and facilitate and showcase: Academic Accomplishments, Student Achievement, and Public Service. The channel will serve to demonstrate to Alaskan residents and prospective students the accomplishments of the University of Alaska and its impact on the state.

Friday, Nov. 21st, 12:00 noon,. and Sunday, Nov. 23rd, 7:00 p.m.		UA Showcase *EGAN '07:* Southeast Alaska's Languages, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Richard Dauenhauer UA Presidents Professor Nora Dauenhauer, Tlinget Birth Speaker Alice Taff UAS Research Assistant Professor Alaska Native Languages Learners of Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian have a few more years to work directly with birth speakers of these languages. Richard and Nora Dauenhauer, Alice Taff and UAS students will first discuss how history has impacted Southeast Alaska's languages, then how UAS is contributing to their preservation and perpetuation.
