Bob Dylan Birthday Marathon
Saturday May 24 8pm til 2am - live to air...
The Pulitzer award winning Bob Dylan is still “busy being born” and “heading for another joint“ - DJing his own radio show, touring the world (he plays Iceland in May) and giving his name to good causes. To celebrate the 67th birthday of the "Picasso of rock", 2ser's annual Bob Dylan Birthday Marathon will take place on Saturday May 24, playing the choicest cuts from Bob's entire 48 year career, including the latest version of A Hard Rain‘s A-Gonna Fall.
There will be a review of Bob’s own Theme Time Radio Hour. From the extraordinary Bob Dylan Live at the Newport Folk Festival DVD, we have previously unreleased songs. The book review will look at Legendary Sessions: Highway 61 Revisited and Million Dollar Bash: a track by track appreciation of the famous Basement Tapes. We will also discuss reaction to Todd Haynes’s amazing multi-Bob movie, I’m Not There. Of course, we shall have the 'Dylan Quiz', the 'Dylan News' and all the Bob-songs that fit! If you're a Dylan fan - or you want to be one - don't miss it!

This week's programming highlights
Week commencing May 12, 2008
Departure Lounge
Friday May 16, 3am to 6am
Elchino shares the cockpit with Telafonica, which has an 'a' in the
middle of their name so that they don't get sued by the Spanish/Latin
American telecommunications giant telefonica, from whom they did indeed
steal their name.
There were 3 members of Telafonica until a few
months ago, when two got on a plane and headed to london indefinitely.
Telafonica is based in electronics, but is generally totally out of
place in night clubs. They will sing their songs live in the cockpit
and make us dance in the aisles, and make us happy with the aid of
fizzy drinks.
Final Draft
Monday May 19, 6pm to 6.30pm
'If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.' So said George Bernard Shaw, and this week on Final Draft, the skeletons are getting their groove on, courtesy of two very exciting novelists, Charlotte Wood and David Brooks. We're talking strange reunions, festering, not-quite forgotten secrets, and the deep and fierce love only found in families.
