WRMU 91.1
WRMU is “The Radio Voice of Mount Union College.” Established by students in 1965, the radio station has grown tremendously over the past two decades. Station facilities located in the Hoover-Price Campus Center include four studios, a news room and a student manager’s office.
WRMU, a student-run station is located at 91.1 on the FM dial and has an effective radiated power of 2,800 watts. The air signal covers roughly a 20-25 mile radius from campus. WRMU is the first radio station in Northeast Ohio to offer live sports programming on the Internet. The station has listeners throughout the country and across Europe, Asia and many other places.
The music format includes smooth jazz, rock, hip-hop, blues and oldies. In addition to broadcasting music, students also present interview programs and remote broadcasts. WRMU broadcasts a variety of intercollegiate athletic events as well as area high school football games. The station serves both the campus and the community. WRMU is a member of The National Association of College Broadcasters, The Radio Television News Directors Association and the Broadcast Education Association.
