Photographer Mac Stone’s Work is featured on the WUFT-FM, Classic 89 27th Anniversary and WJUF-FM, Nature Coast 90 13th Anniversary Poster. “The Prairie Exhales,” a 24” x 30” four-color, limited-edition poster featuring Kanapaha Prairie in Gainesville, will be available for at $100 pledge through November 9.
Landscape images are very popular and the posters have become collector’s items. This is the first time Kanapaha Prairie has been featured. It is Mac's homage to Florida winter and captures the fog rising from the water at sunrise.
Mac Stone, 24, moved to Gainesville with his family in 1988. He graduated from Eastside High School and earned several degrees from Virginia Tech. Self taught in photography, Mac has been photographing nature for a decade, both around the world and in his own backyard of Kanapaha Prairie in Gainesville. Recently, he worked in Honduras teaching rural children photography as a tool for raising consciousness about conservation and environmental sustainability.
His most recent exhibit, “Hidden Heart of North Florida,” featured photographs of preserved Alachua County lands. [MORE]
