| Choose WJSU Quiet Campaign |
Mark your calendars for Super Thursday, November 6, when WJSU hosts day one of the $35,000 fall on-air pledge campaign. During this seven-day crusade, your pledge is a “vote” for our exquisite brand of cool jazz and current news. In planning what we could afford to spend on developing our new program schedule, which will cost $50,000 this year, we anticipated increased financial support from our listeners. Help us set the bar even higher with your renewed or new commitment by clicking the pledge icon.
We're doing away with the normal bells and whistles that you're use to during pledge week by lessoning the time we devote to on-air pitches. Because we want you to continue to enjoy the new Cool and Current format, we have decided to execute a quiet campaign. This means we will present gentle reminders throughout the campaign of how important your support is to this station.
Additionally, we will present specialty programming during campaign week. One such program is “Picking up the Pieces,” a story of how family and faith are healing veterans back from war. We hope you will join us as we salute our United States armed forces on Veterans Day. Tuesday, November 11, 2008, we will air this one-hour documentary at 6 a.m. followed by a special one-hour broadcast of the award-winning “Issues and Images” at 7 a.m. on always current WJSU.
Your membership matters and makes a difference in what you hear every day. We say thanks to the many loyal supporters for making in-depth news and information, talk and great jazz possible on FM 88. If you're not a member, please call us during the “Choose WJSU Quiet Campaign” at 601-979-3434 November 6 – 12, 2008 or simply mail your contribution: WJSU, PO Box 18450, Jackson, MS, 39217. A contribution in any amount helps us continue to shop for the best news and jazz programs your money can buy. Just click on the pledge icon to contribute. You do not need a credit card to pledge online. |
