Seven works commissioned by YLE are to be premiered during the season 2008–09: Rautasade by Osmo Tapio Räihälä, Symphony No. 2 Seppo Pohjola, Two Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm by Severi Pyysalo, Songs of Life by Tapani Länsiö, Piano Concerto by Kirmo Lintinen and new orchestral works by Magnus Lindberg and Paavo Korpijaakko. The first performances in Finland and the whole Europe will include Kaija Saariaho’s Four Leino Songs. First performances in Finland include for example Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Gruppen, Elliott Carter’s Three Illusions and Magnus Lindberg’s Seht die Sonne.

The jubilee season in 2002 began with the publication of a history of the FRSO by Antero Karttunen.
